Halloween 2007: Fun Things to Do, Movies to Watch, and Games to Play

Well, it's almost here! Halloween! Its one of my favorite holidays, costumes, candy, parties, horror movies, its the best! And who doesn't agree? Try to tell me Halloween isn't the best, just try. I always have fun ideas for fun, here's a few ideas for what to do this Halloween!

Watch Horror Movies

Horror movies are awesome! Well, not for everybody... I'm looking at you, mom. But I love them! Maybe you wanna watch a classic like the original Halloween: The Night He Came Home by John Carpenter, or Wes Craven's icon A Nightmare on Elm Street. Or maybe something new, like last year's Silent Hill film or the anthological film Trick 'r' Treat released earlier this year. Maybe something funny like Child's Play or Evil Dead 2? Don't be afraid to get some popcorn and invite some friends over for a good old horror flick.

Play Horror Games

Any gamers in the crowd? You'll probably like this one! Horror games (psycological or survival) are icons of my Halloween time, the Resident Evil games are a great example! You spend from dusk until dawn in a terrifying mansion, haunted by bloodthirsty zombies, giant snakes, and a shady pharmaceutical company that may just be a bit more involved in all of this than you may think... You play as a member of the STARS unit of Raccoon City Police Dept. and you were called in to investigate a series of bizzare murders, only to be trapped in the enigmatic Specner Mansion, with all of its evil residents (see what I did there?) Or if you're in for a more psychological scare, might I recommend the Silent Hill series? This series follows a few different protagonists, all with no relation to each other, loosely connected by the mysterious, run down rural American town known as "Silent Hill." Take the second game (aptly named Silent Hill 2) for example; You play as a man named James Sunderland, whose wife, Mary, passed away due to a terminal illness 3 years ago. But he recieves a letter telling him to meet in "our special place" signed by... Mary. When he gets to the town (the "special place" she wrote about) he finds nothing but inhuman demons, waiting to make him the town's next victim... Or of course theres the not-so-scary games, ones anybody can play! Luigi's Masion is a fun little game about Mario's not-quite-as-iconic brother venturing through a haunted mansion to sace his brother.
